Clinics with Mary Kitzmiller

Clinics with Mary Kitzmiller

Better Communication. More Confidence. A Better Partnership.

Good horsemanship isn't about following a recipe. It's about learning to read the horse in front of you.

My clinics are designed to help riders understand the why behind what they're doing, recognize what their horse is telling them, and develop better timing, feel, communication, and confidence.

Whether we're working with a young horse, navigating obstacles, building confidence, troubleshooting a problem, or refining more advanced work, my goal is to help you leave with tools you can continue using long after the clinic is over.

What Can We Work On?

Every clinic is a little different, because every group and every horse is different.

Clinic topics can be customized around the needs and interests of the riders and may include:

  • Building confidence and communication

  • Groundwork that translates to the saddle

  • Understanding pressure, release, timing, and feel

  • Positive reinforcement and reward-based training

  • Problem solving and working through behavioral challenges

  • Young horse and colt-starting foundations

  • Mustang and sensitive horse development

  • Obstacles and confidence building

  • Ranch riding and practical horsemanship

  • Developing softness, responsiveness, and body control

  • Helping riders better understand how their horse learns

You don't need a perfectly trained horse, and you don't need to be an advanced rider. Bring the horse you're working with and the questions you've got.

Want to Host a Clinic?

I'd love to come work with your group.

Clinics can be hosted by barns, riding clubs, trainers, equestrian organizations, or simply a group of riders who want to get together and learn.

We'll work together to build a clinic that makes sense for your riders, horses, facility, and goals.

If you're interested in hosting, send me a little information about:

  • Your location

  • Your facility

  • Approximate number of riders

  • Dates or seasons you're considering

  • What you'd most like your group to work on

From there, we can talk through the possibilities and put together something that works.
